Description
The Voices Project of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (JHU CCP), is looking for a qualified consultant to conduct a pilot test of an instrument to evaluate malaria advocacy programs in four African countries. The selected individual will be responsible for pre-testing the instrument, working with CCP staff to revise the instrument based on the pretest, using the instrument to interview 15-20 pre-selected key informants in four countries (Ghana, Mali, Tanzania, Uganda), gathering and analyzing data, and developing a summary report. Field visits and pre-testing/data collection work must be done in September/October 2011, with analysis and report complete by end October 2011.
Qualifications
Consultant must have, at a minimum, an MPH or equivalent graduate degree with significant evaluation training and/or experience. Consultant must demonstrate expert interviewing skills, particularly with senior government officials and other high-level stakeholders.
Consultant must be fluent in both French and English, with experience in at least one of the selected countries an advantage. Consultant must have completed a training course in human subject research ethics (i.e. CITI). Exceptional writing skills, as demonstrated by published studies or journal articles, are beneficial. Travel is required.
