Undergraduate Scholarships for the applicants of Black or African American,Hispanic or Latino, Native American, or Asian American in the field of accounting in USA-2012/2013

Eligibility: -An underrepresented minority in the accounting profession (e.g., Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; or Asian American) .
-Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (12 semester hours or equivalent) or a full-time graduate level student (9 semester hours or equivalent) for the 2011-12 academic year. (Note: an exception may be made if you plan to participate in an internship program.) .
-Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate-level degree in an “accounting-related” major. (“Accounting- related” shall be as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor’s sole discretion.) .
-Planning to pursue the CPA licensure but not presently be a CPA .
-Maintained an overall and major GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) .
-Completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting, by end of spring 2011 .
-Applied to or been accepted into a public or private, 501(c) four-year college or university located in the U.S. states or territories.
-The business program must be accredited by the AACSB and/or ACBSP . An AICPA student affiliate member (or have submitted a new member application).
-A U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) .
-Some financial need (i.e., not receiving a full or partial scholarship(s) and/or grant(s) that cover and/or exceed one’s educational expenses)

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For four decades, this program has provided over $14.6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars.
