Job Description:
The position of Crane Operator is responsible for operating different types of models of cranes , working in unison with other crane operators when large lifts are made and moved from one location to another, maintenance and mechanical workings of the crane. Daily visual inspection of cranes and crane wires and notifying the Deck Engineer/Chief Officer of any malfunctions or unsafe conditions. Assist in scheduling crane maintenance and crane brake-downs/repairs. Liaising with Foreman/ Engineer on crane maintenance and performance and immediate reporting of any malfunction. Liaising with bridge when making any lift that could affect vessel stability. Ensuring that all safe work procedures for crane lifts are adhered to. Maintaining the crane operator's log. Assisting in maintenance and repair of all equipment related to vessel's activities.
