Position Summary
Working with the head of Marketing for EMEA and a small marketing team, the individual in this newly created position will focus on creating regional marketing programs to increase top and bottom line performance of Bloomberg’s portfolio of financial products and services in the EMEA region. He/she will also be tasked with helping Bloomberg to identify new areas of opportunity, effectively launch new products and services and address new target segments and emerging geographies.

Specifically, he or she will ensure appropriate regional adaptation of global marketing plans and programs in support of the Bloomberg Professional service and other Financial Product businesses; he/she will also recommend specific local initiatives where necessary; ensure compliance with the Bloomberg brand and the supporting core attributes as well as understanding of the brand across the enterprise with consistent implementation at all customer touch points.

Given the relative “start up” nature of Marketing at Bloomberg, the ability to educate and guide sales and product clients will be key. Finally, he/she will ensure that the appropriate marketing processes are implemented to maximize marketing effectiveness and efficiency in the region.

Reports to: Regional Marketing Manager

Major Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Global Marketing teams to ensure that EMEA requirements are included in the planning process. Ensure that EMEA is current with any global plans and priorities and that the programs envisaged are appropriate for the EMEA markets. Identify gaps not covered by the Global marketing teams and create local programs as appropriate.
• Ensure understanding of the brand positioning and the core set of brand attributes; ensure adherence to the brand in all internal and external communications.
• Develop and ensure adherence to a corporate and product identity/design management system (e.g., common logos, graphic look and feel, tone of voice, product naming, etc.)
• Create and implement strategic marketing plans; develop effective working relationships to help business units and sales leaders achieve their business goals as well as help them develop new business opportunities.
• Work with Customer and Market Intelligence to further develop an understanding of current and potential customers and customer segmentation to help improve the loyalty of existing customers as well as acquire new customers in the region.
• Work closely with the Communications function to ensure that all messaging is consistent and coherent and furthers the goals of the enterprise.

Ideal Experience
• Considerable experience in progressively responsible marketing leadership roles and a record of superior professional accomplishment with leading, well-branded organizations which have a significant business-to-business focus. Specific experience in the financial services sector or subscription-based services is desirable. Experience of living/working in the EMEA region is critical to success in this position.
• Track record of success working and influencing a fast-paced, fast-growing, global organization, being persuasive and effective even where no direct reporting relationship exists.
• Experience of growing businesses with an existing track record and business model as well as positioning, launching and rapidly growing new businesses.
• Track record of success in originating and building go-to-market programs that incorporate competitive/marketplace analysis, strategic plans and operational marketing tactics as well as metrics for gauging return on marketing investment.
• Experience across a broad range of marketing functional roles including brand management, arketing communications and sales support, product management, new product development and market research and analysis.
• An understanding of where Marketing is going in terms of the use of new technologies and media and a passion for exploring new marketing methods are highly desirable.
• Strong global marketing expertise and the proven ability to conceptualize along with the ability to evangelize and teach marketing principles and practices to all relevant stakeholders throughout the Company.
• A bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or related advanced degree would be preferred / or equivalent work experience
